How The Goods Do Thanksgiving Dinner

How The Goods Do Thanksgiving Dinner

Adulthood is hard, hosting the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner because you're an adult is even harder.

We understand how frustrating it is to host your own Thanksgiving meal for the first time; so in order to make your life easier, we decided show you how we do a small Thanksgiving Dinner for the ones who are just like us, far away from home and need to start their own Thanksgiving tradition.

Starting with the menu, we wanted to keep everything simple so you don't panic while cooking and stress out too much during the night (or maybe just stress a little less).

MENU:

The Goods' Thanksgiving Dinner Menu

  • Turkey / Roasted Chicken and Gravy
  • Cheesy Meatballs
  • Creamy Mash Potato
  • Bacon Wrapped Asparagus
  • Roasted Parmesan Cauliflower
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Cream Corn
  • Mini Pumpkin Pie
  • Thanksgiving Cocktail (Bacon Infused Whiskey or something)

All of the dishes are either really simple to make or you can just simply buy the finished product; since it is too much work and too stressful for a new cook/ host to try to make the perfectly moist yet crispy turkey from the first try.

Our menu is just a minimal list of dishes that you can take inspiration from and cater to your own preference. We are not going to write out the recipes for each dish since there are plenty  online, but we linked the ones we love down below so you can cut the fuzz of trying to find recipes works well, but we did wrote about our Bacony Whiskey cocktail recipe, check it out and make it for the little mingling session before the dinner starts.

RECIPES:

    MUSIC:

We recommend putting on some jazz during the dinner so it is relaxing for those who are meeting people for the first time and everyone wouldn't have to necessarily talk over the music. The "Jazzy Dinner" or "Jazzy Romance" playlist on Spotify would be a good choice, which the songs are soothing.

If jazz isn't your thing, maybe putting on some holiday music would be another great choice since Christmas is right around the corner and who doesn't some love holiday music? The Happy Holiday section on Spotify has holiday playlists in all genres you could ever want, basically saving you time to put together a perfect playlist.

P.s. this is not sponsored by Spotify by any means, we wish.

    DRINKS:

A little buzz is always necessary when people gather around. We thought coming up with a bacon infused cocktail recipe would be interesting for the mingling session before dinner and some other recommendations to go along with the dinner.

    "Bacony Whiskey"

    Ingredients:

    Makes 4 Servings

    - 4 slices Orange Slices (or use orange peel but put it in the cocktail instead)

    - 8 ounces Orange Juice (We did the freshly squeezed juice)

    - 12 ounces of choice of Whiskey

    - 12-16 cubes of regular size Ice-cube

    Directions:

    - Toast or microwave bacon until crispy

    - Distribute the ice in each cup equally

    - Pour in the orange juice and whiskey then give it a nice stir

    - Serve the bacon on top of the rim or half soaked in the liquid if it would be served and drank immediately

    WHAT TO DO WITH LEFTOVERS?

If you're wondering what to do with the leftovers, no worries we got you!

Our dinner is prepared for 4 person with some leftovers for the next day. There's always at least some turkey meat, mash potatoes, and cranberry sauce left so we made turkey sliders and mash potato croquette for you to make next day.

At the end of the day, no matter how the dishes turns out, the most important thing is to spend quality time with your loved ones.

Eat lots, shop lots, and laugh lots.
    Happy Thanksgiving!
